The 2010 SSWR Opening Plenary will explore strategies, lessons, and potential for international research in social work. Each of the panelists has extensive experience in international research, with added viewpoints as heads of schools, academic associations, and research centers. The panelists represent diverse backgrounds and bodies of research on several continents. In the time available, the discussion will cover the following themes: (1) vision and key questions, (2) working across borders, across cultures, (3) research partnerships, (4) research designs, (5) data collection and quality, (6) publication(s) in multiple languages, (7) knowledge utilization, and (8) funding support.
