Social work programs are key to nationwide efforts to end homelessness. Through a consortium of social work schools, the National Center for Excellence in Homeless Services (NCEHS) strengthens homeless services by creating partnerships, supporting leaders, and sharing excellence. The NCEHS recently launched a National Homelessness Social Work Initiative funded by the New York Community Trust. This major multi-year social work movement seeks to strengthen partnerships between homeless services and social work programs, develop knowledge and build curricular content, and create leadership paths for students entering the field of homelessness. This poster session will describe the partnerships among schools and with the Council on Social Work Education, highlighting USC’s role as a partner leading increased research collaboration across schools to address knowledge gaps in homelessness.
