Our SIG focuses on advancing the goals outlined in the Grand Challenge on Productive Aging by the AASW&SW. Since 2017, our SIG at SSWR has had a membership of approximately 25-30 members from emerging scholars to senior faculty. SIG members have organized symposia at SSWR and GSA, co-published together in top multidisciplinary journals, and have sought and received grants together. Another important goal is to share information of funding opportunities with junior scholars and to nurture their intellectual curiosity and capacity with meaningful mentorship. Our goals for this SIG at SSWR 2020 are: (a) disseminate latest research findings generated from organized symposia at SSWR and GSA (2019); (b) identify opportunities to extend this research in the next year; (c) welcome and include new members onto existing working groups; (d) share opportunities for grants, publications, funding and employment.
