The Father Related Research SIG brings together social work scholars who study fathers, fathering, and father-child relationships; cultural and contextual influences on fathering; and best practices and policies to support diverse fathers and their families. SIG members study the engagement of fathers with their children, the engagement of fathers by social service organizations, and the engagement of fathers across different systems (e.g. child support, justice, child welfare, immigration), with an emphasis on identifying strategies to engage fathers more effectively and improve outcomes for fathers, their children and families.
