This is a gathering of social work academics concerned with the interface of our profession and the world of psychiatric medication. Members share their experiences in doing research and publishing articles related to such topics as the lived experiences of clients with medications, the sociopolitical context of use, the attitudes and beliefs of different groups related to psychiatric medications, the role of big pharma in perpetuating prioritization of medication in mental health treatment, and, of course, the role of social work in all of this.
