The Disaster Research Special Interest Group (SIG) provides a timely opportunity for social work scholars to engage in a critical dialogue in the role of disaster research in social work. Given the significant increase and the complexity of disasters and climate change, the SIG aims to provide a collaborative platform for discussion and research collaborations to address the impact of disasters and climate change. The SIG further aims to enhance definitions and theoretical constructs on the role of disaster research in social work research. The SIG is aligned with the “create social responses to a changing environment” Grand Challenges.
