This Special Interest Group (SIG) focuses on promoting and supporting research on social innovation, the process of responding to and harnessing new developments in technology, education, design, and evidence-based practice, through social means and for social ends. This SIG also focuses on promoting and supporting research on social entrepreneurship, which develops a new firm or business to capture the social gains of a social innovation for that firm’s stakeholders. For social work, social innovation emerges out of the evidence-informed practice process, as the field dynamically experiments to discover and scale promising practices and interventions successfully.
