This session will introduce attendees to innovative frameworks (futures work, human centered design) informing social work research and doctoral training in the future. Presenters will discuss the big ideas generated in a national gathering of social work doctoral students tasked with reimagining the future of social work research in doctoral training. PhD students in attendance will share their experiences learning and using these frameworks in their own research and in their doctoral programs. The session will conclude with generative discussion of how futures frameworks and human centered design may influence social work research to have the greatest public impact.
