Henrika McCoy, PhD, University of Illinois at Chicago, Joseph Peniel, PhD, University of Texas at Austin, Cathy Cohen, University of Chicago and Monica Webb Hooper, NIMHD
Dr. Monica Webb Hooper is Deputy Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities. She works closely with the Director and leadership, to oversee all aspects of the institute and to advance the mission of promoting the health of populations with health disparities and health equity.

Peniel E. Joseph is the Barbara Jordan Chair in Ethics and Political Values at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and professor of history and the founding director of the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a frequent national commentator on issues of Antiracism, Democracy and Civil Rights. He has written several previous books on African American history, including The Sword and The Shield and Stokely: A Life. The Sword and the Shield was named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Must-Read Books of 2020. He lives in Austin, Texas.
