The purpose of this study is: to research strategies that will empower victims of human trafficking. There will be an overview on the growing issue to explain how it is recognized as a challenging human right that is being taken away from millions of innocent individuals. This study will discuss the issues and challenges that victims face before, during, and after being subjected to a life of trafficking. Additionally, the research will have information on direct problems that follow their rescue and are affecting the victims from the heavy experiences that they have encountered. As many victims begin grounding and hoping to find the comfort and safety prior to their assault, the lack of resources, support, and the misinterpretation regarding who the victim and criminal has left many in a more isolated and lost state. Furthermore, there will be an explanation on how protection and prevention solutions will be used to empower the victims and provide more justice. These specific protection and prevention solutions will include better awareness, outreach, education, and advocacy programs for individuals who have been or are victims of human trafficking. These are solutions that should be used as a bridge for victims to aim towards reaching a sense of empowerment by overcoming the challenges and obstacles that they face on a daily basis. The paper will be finalized with an explanation on the strategic outcomes or policies that may create change within this current issue for human trafficking victims.
