This Special Interest Group (SIG) intends to fill a void as there is not currently a SIG centering the experiences of associate professors who identify as Black, Indigenous, and LatinX. Where there is often a great deal of support for assistant professors, the same is not typically true for those seeking promotion from associate to full professor. There is a lack of representation of Black, Indigenous, and LatinX full professors which can make it difficult for associate professors to receive adequate mentorship and support from those with whom they share identities. This issue is further compounded for those whose scholarship is tied to their identities.
