This SIG aims to fill an important gap in social work research and practice by focusing on the unique needs of unauthorized college students, a group frequently overlooked in higher education discussions. It supports SSWR’s commitment to advancing equity and social justice by encouraging the adoption of culturally responsive approaches across institutions. The SIG will foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among faculty, counselors, and administrators, with the goal of influencing policies and practices that directly impact these students. Discussions and insights from this group may also inspire future research, scholarly publications, and advocacy efforts centered on supporting undocumented student populations.
