Session: Political Social Work (Society for Social Work and Research 30th Annual Conference Anniversary)

While the field of political social work research has been growing in recent years, we are not aware of any previous Political Social Work SIG. Considering the rapidly changing, tenuous political climate, this is a critical time to convene this group. The conveners will use several communication tools to communicate with prospective SIG attendees to publicize this SIG. These include the CRISP listserv and LinkedIn group, the policy practice listserv, and direct outreach to political social work scholars. We will use these contacts to schedule a Fall semester meeting to discuss the agenda for the meeting at the SSWR conference. At SSWR, our meeting will provide space for coordinating relevant research agendas, planning for abstract submissions, and facilitating other research collaborations.
