This Special Interest Group (SIG) intends to fill a void as there is not currently a SIG centering the use of art in scholarship, teaching, advocacy, or healing. Art in this SIG is inclusive of spoken word, dance, painting, music, etc. This group of scholars may face barriers to productivity as their methodologies may be viewed as both unorthodox and lacking rigor. It is important that we make space for the expanding ways in which researchers can contribute to various bodies of knowledge resulting in positive impacts on the lived experiences of others.
